In short
Rndez is a booking service made in Montréal, Québec. Shops use it to take appointments. This page says what we keep about you, why, and for how long.
- We never sell your details.
- The shop you book with sees your details. Other shops don’t.
- We never see or keep your card number.
If you book an appointment
We keep what you type: your name, email, phone number, any note or photos you add, and the appointment itself. The shop you booked with sees all of it. Nobody else does.
Some shops ask questions when you book, for example your age, allergies or health before a tattoo or a massage. Your answers are kept with your booking, and only that shop sees them.
We use your details to hold your time, send your confirmation and reminder (by email, and by text if you gave a phone number), and let you change or cancel. If the shop turned it on, you also get a thank-you the next day, with a link to stop those messages.
If you pay, your card details go straight to the payment company (Stripe or Square). We never see or keep your card number.
After a visit, you can rate it (1 to 5 stars) and leave a comment. The person who served you can rate you too. These ratings are private: only the Rndez team sees them, never the shop or its staff. We use them to keep Rndez safe and good, and they never block anyone automatically. They are optional.
If you leave a tip after a visit, it is paid to the person who served you, through Stripe or Square, and you get a receipt.
Rendy, the AI front desk
Some shops use Rendy, an AI assistant that answers questions in the booking box, and by text. What you type there is sent to Anthropic, the company that makes the AI, to write the answer. The shop can read the chat.
Don’t type health or card details to Rendy. Rendy always says it is an AI if you ask, and you can ask for a real person at any time.
If you run a shop
We keep your name, email, a scrambled copy of your password, and everything you set up: services, staff, hours, clients and bookings. Your client list is yours. You can export it, or delete a client, at any time from the dashboard.
If you import a client list from another app, you must have the right to do so. Rndez uses it only for your shop.
To make Rndez better, we count which dashboard screens and features are used, with the type of device and a rough place (city or region, from the network). These counts never keep IP addresses.
For security, Rndez keeps a log of changes to accounts, shops, bookings and payments: who made the change, when, what changed, and the IP address and device used. This includes changes made on the booking page. Contact details in the log are partly hidden.
Cookies and analytics
- The booking box uses no cookies.
- The shop dashboard uses one cookie, to keep the owner logged in.
- On Rndez’s own pages (home, features, pricing and pages like them), we may use Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics to see how visitors use them, and tools from Google, Meta, TikTok and Microsoft to measure our ads. These tools can set cookies and collect pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, your device and a rough location. Text typed into forms is hidden from them.
These tools are never on a shop’s booking box, the dashboard, HQ or our contact form. You can block these cookies in your browser settings.
Who helps us run Rndez
These companies handle data for us, only to do their job:
- Netlify: hosting and storage
- Resend: email
- Twilio: text messages
- Stripe and Square: payments
- Anthropic: Rendy, the AI front desk (only for shops that turn it on), and reading a price list a shop pastes in
- Microsoft and Google: analytics on our own pages only
Some of them keep data outside Québec, including in the United States.
How long we keep it
- Bookings, clients, answers to a shop’s questions and chats with Rendy: until the shop deletes them, or the shop is deleted.
- Private ratings after a visit: until the shop is deleted.
- A shop that leaves can ask us to delete its shop. We then erase its bookings, clients and settings.
- In the security log, IP addresses and devices are erased after 12 months. The rest of the log is kept so changes can be checked later.
- Messages sent with our contact form are erased 12 months after they arrive.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your details, or to get a copy of them. For a booking, ask the shop you booked with first: it manages its own client list. You can also write to us. You can withdraw your consent to messages at any time.
The person in charge of protecting personal information at Rndez is its owner. Write to them with our contact form, and pick “A privacy request”.
If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to Québec’s Commission d’accès à l’information.
Changes
If we change this page, the date at the top changes too.
